F1 Zoooooooommmmm

The hot favourite - Felipe Massa during the qualifying round on Saturday - zooming past...

But in any competitive games there are always surprises ..Alonso could not believe that he won!! ha ha
The beautiful Singapore skyline lighted up at night ! wow..
Sis 2 says - Mum and dad got to watch the F1 night race held for the first time in Singapore upclose last Saturday. We wanted to follow but there were 2 tickets only. To appease us, dad promised to buy the miniature F1 toy cars for us. Mum and dad were seated at the Bay platform and had a good view of the race. Mum is not a F1 fan and the only person she knows was a certain Shumacher but she was thrilled to watch it anyway.......But now she knows about Louis Hamilton and Felipe Massa ( equivalent to Tiger Woods of Golf) They said the cars were very flashy and super duper fast such that their camera could not capture its movement. So they decided to use the video instead to capture the man-made fastest cars. Most spectators had the earplug on but mum said that the noise wasn't as deafening as the four of us combined (he he). I guess she is so used to the noise at home that she does not need the earplug or does it mean she is at the preliminary stage of loosing her sense of hearing aka pekak? he he :)
Dad also said that he will bring us next year if he gets the tickets again..!!!

Paralympic 2008

The paralympic games are a multi sport event for athletes with physical, mental and sensorial disabilities. It is always held the same year as the Olympic games and at the same venue.
Sis 1 says - Singaporean, Laurentia Tan, born with celebral palsy and deafness won the 1st and 2nd paralympic bronze medals in an Equestrian event. Cool huh!! To be able to ride a horse and participate in a major competition despite her disabilities!! We must not underestimate the human strength to overcome the odds and face adversities with sheer determination and resilience.

Happy Birthday Mummy!!

Happy Birthday to our beloved mummy - The Love of Our Live, the Wind beneath our Wings, Our teacher and Mentor....

mum's personal mantras.. collated over the years of our existence:)

not in order of merit!!

  • Dotes on hubby, children and family – she can't imagine life without them..

  • Positive thinking esp wrt errr work …needs loads of that (hope her boss does not read this!!) self confessed workaholic but not by choice…(must salute her for not utilizing all the child care leave despite having 4 hyper kids and giving herself false hope that these will be converted to $$$ )

  • Scares us to bits when she said that she wants to be a stay -at- home- mum…(contradicting eh?) that happens all the time!

  • technocratic savviness : enough to survive the cyber age and of course not to forget with the help of dad and sis 1 at home and IT people to trouble shoot at work..!!!

  • Swoons on cheesecake and bittersweet chocolates but very conscious of her weight gain (coz of family genetic history) and therefore ate only on special occasions such as Mother's Day and birthday.

  • Must ask daily question: ‘Am I FAT?’… we have perfected the art of giving politically correct replies as either way, mum next question will be ‘Are you sure or not?’

  • Gets hyperactive / mysteriously quiet / sulky when she had dose of caffeinated drinks especially Himalayan tea latte and cofee – she will rattle incessantly on positively nothing..

  • TV addict especially cooking prog such as Nigella’s feast and SEDAP but we yet to taste any of the food he he.. plus programmes on the likes of home improvement ... she hopes to get the surprise too!!

  • Loves driving but hates parking

  • has a weakness with anything that has L & V on it... (we don;t understand why but have to live with it)

  • a window-shopaholic (vs shopaholic) - therefore dad must thank her for not spending too much .. somehow with age has 'upgraded' from takashimaya and the likes to muscat road, Lor Engku Aman and vivo....:)

list above not exhaustive...!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM!!! LOVE YOU TILL INFINITY AND BEYOND!!! FROM YOUR BUNDLE OF JOY!
