Happy 8th Birthday Bro!

Dearest Bro
You are one in a million...
Who protects bro2 and loves him dearly
Who patiently taught sis2 when she's in doubt..
Who shares secrets, jokes and riddles with sis 1
Unselfish, loving brother to all of us...
Who willingly gives his precious gift to his crying little brother
how much he has grown from a cute little baby to a handsome bro
Who made us laugh with his funny jokes, singing and dance moves,
We fight, quarrel, laugh and cry

Words cannot describe how much you mean to all of us...
We thank GOD for giving us such a wonderful brother

HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY!! Love you lots ... muahhhhahaaaaa
From your dearest hopefully less than irritating siblings....(our maiden poem : not bad huh:?? youbetterbelieve it is from the bottom of our heart.. he he)

Olympic Fever Part III

The curtain is down for the Beijing Olympic. Now the most mind boggling question by Sis 1.. "Did China spend too much of its dollars into the Beijing Olympic for an event that lasted just over 2 weeks? Instead of helping its impoverished people that faced natural disasters such as the recent earthquake, billion of dollars were spent on building state of the art stadiums, swimming complexes and not to forget the spectacular opening and closing ceremonies" (For the record, the 2008 Beijing Olympics are the most expensive Games in history with a staggering total of $40.9 billion spent between 2001 and 2007 on infrastructure, energy, transportation and water supply projects).

Olympic Fever Part II

Couch Potato says - did you watch 'the Flash' Usain Bolt running at the 100m run ? The fastest man on earth dashed and left the rest of the runners 'limping' behind ... and to think that he ate YAM (ubi keladi eh?)!! (his dad said).. to achieve such speed? watching him run is like watching the show believe it or not ? fact or fiction ?
Also, what about the Micheal Phelps who spent most of his lifetime underwater than above ??!! reincarnation of a mermaid/merman?

what is in the name?

aptly named Usain Bolt of errrr 'lightning' !!
Now that reminds me of dad's idol, Tiger 'lurking' in the Woods!!

the Michael 'merman' Phelps .. 8 Olympic gold medalist

Beijing Olympic Fever 080808

Armchair reporter Sis 1 says - The Beijing Olympic which started on 080808 was an exciting watch. Singapore women table tennis team managed to get into the final !! It was an awesome victory and I could see their determination and resilience to succeed and excellent teamwork despite going through a tough fight. Singapore is guaranteed a silver medal , a first Olympic medal since Singapore gained its independence in 1965. Lets hope that they could win a GOLD !!

Well, nothing is impossible ! The little red dot can succeed if it continues to strive for excellence. Tao Li , the swimmer was very close to winning (well she won 5th) despite the lack of height and competing against the very tall US swimmers.

Anyway who can forget the US swimmer, Michael Phelps who won olympic gold (s) and breaking records so easily as if he is swimming in a school meet instead of the Olympics ? Incredible feat indeed!

My favourite game among others are swimming, table tennis and archery. Perhaps , I should join the table tennis club in school.. he he

By the way, I wanted to take part in the Macdonald Olympic Champion kid but mum missed the deadline !
The fever goes on!!!!

Happy 43rd National Day (Part 2) 9 August 08

Visiting one of the 7 wonders of Singapore - The National Zoo

Our all time favourite - The white tiger.

Err.. what is that ? Bro 1 is trying to explain to Bro2 the difference between the tiger and the leopard.. "Both are under the Cat family. Leopards are the ones with black spots."

The Elephant Show. It was fun watching the elephants showing their various tricks.

Sis2 reading the info. Whats' that Farisa?

Hmm.. the siblings showcasing the giraffe act ?

3 hours later.. our map reader Bro2 is feeling the heat... he he
'daddy, carry me please! '

Yup, finally I've got you!! Ha ha .. Don't you dare try to escape again !!
My parents suggested going for a short trip across the causeway but all of us disagreed accept for bro2. We told them we did not want to miss watching National Day parade on TV and also the debut of Channel 5 TV programmes 'Calefare' and 'First Class'.

Mum then suggested visiting the Singapore Zoo and everyone agreed. We headed to the zoo in the morning after having a sumptuous breakfast at Macdonald. The zoo was very crowded. We had an enjoyable time there especially bro2 who last visited when he was just a year old.
In the afternoon, the siblings were glued to the TV, watching live telecast of National Day parade. Though we were not at the Esplanade, we sang the various national songs along with those audiences who were watching at the esplanade and also read the pledge. We stood up and sang with pride when the national anthem was played - Mum commented that we should be given a medal for being the most patriotic and loyal siblings in Singapore.

National Day Part 1

Sis 2 says - On the 8.8.08, the schools in Singapore celebrated National Day. My school, PPIS, organised a Camp Olympia held at Republic Poly. The camp is named after the Olympic Games which started on that day too. We had all kind of activities which taught about the various Olympic Games . Here's me with my first medal, ever. We made a white dress that resembles the Greeks who started the Olympic.

Sis 1 was involved in a skit on forefathers of Singapore. Her class performed a skit on 'Dr Toh Chin Chye. Miss Ning said her class performed well. Bravo!
